the island of Åland, the Swedish speaking community belonging to
Finland in the Gulf of Bothnia, Barka Vall are a very impressive seven
piece modern folk ish electric band in the vein of Hedningarna, Garmarna,
Vilddas etc. Female singer Ella Grüssner plays fiddle, viola, flute,
didgeridoo. There is also accordion, guitars, bass, drums. Almost all original
material and a very strong album that's wholeheartedly recommended.
